Projects created in Unity and Blender
Out of The Woods
Out of the Woods is an emotional intelligence desktop game focusing on mental illness and depression. This game was designed to simulate emotional experiences to create an empathetic understanding within the player.
This project was developed with the purpose of fostering empathy for those who suffer from mental illness.  In particular, it focuses on feelings of inadequacy and hopelessness. The game is a single-player adventure game that is comprised of three small mini-games. Each mini-game is geared towards the goal of getting your character out of the woods and to safety. Except, it’s impossible to get out. The game is designed particularly to frustrate the player while keeping the character engaged through mini-games, soundtrack, and narrative. The game was constructed in Unity and game assets were created in Blender.
Business as Usual
Business as Usual is a desktop game that challenges the player to interact with stereotypes and unconscious biases in the workplace.
This game was created as a way for me to explore adult learning and emotional intelligence training. Given my interest in education, I wanted to devote time to understanding the principles of adult education and where particular education models thrive. The project focuses on stereotypes and unconscious biases in the workplace. The player is tasked with running their department and meeting business goals by identifying talents and weaknesses within their employees. The challenge is to understand which workplace decisions are fair and where their biases come into play. The game is designed to be played in conjunction with a training module where the player can discuss their experience and read through the prompted reflections they wrote during gameplay. The project was developed in Unity and all assets were created in Blender.
